Sisterhood Speaks – March 2019
What We Have Planned
Reva Skoll, Sisterhood Co-President
March, the beginning of the last quarter of the Sisterhood year. First, I’d like to thank Ellie Zamos and Sandy Pickar for the outstanding work they have done to keep Sisterhood together. Without these past presidents, I’m not sure Sisterhood would still be here today. Now, however, I wonder will Sisterhood be here tomorrow? Who will step up to the plate to continue putting together all the great programs we have and support for our Temple Beth El.
Let’s look at the programs of the past and future: hosting Oneg Shabbat, running the Gift Shop, programming the Create, Hydrate & Fill Your Plate programs, Cruising the California Coast on the Ruby Princess (call Barbara Matles or Barbara Riker if interested), selling Hamantaschen for Purim, laughing at Comedy Night in Hermosa Beach on April 3, and our annual Community Passover Seder on April 24. With these and other programs we support our youth groups, have scholarships for camp, and donate money to the Temple’s Keren Beit El/General Fund.
We are all busy; working, family, children and grandchildren, happenings, but remember Sisterhood is a very integral part of who we are here at Temple Beth El. Sisterhood, currently meets the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. Come and visit, see what we do, so that when the nominating committee calls you, don’t be afraid to step up to the plate and volunteer, you will not be alone, you will be with your sisters, as we are Sisterhood in Action.
