Sisterhood Speaks – January 2020

Lotsa Thanks

Dina Dreizler, Sisterhood President

A new year has begun and the Sisterhood is looking forward to enjoying many programs, holidays and events with you in this new year. Last month the Sisterhood held its annual Latke Party. It was a fantastic event co-chaired by Sandra Pickar and Rose Kolas. Many people worked together to make the event happen. I apologize for not naming everyone, but suffice to say without the contributions of so many and the leadership of Sandy and Rose, the event would not occur. (Please indulge me to make one special thank you to Ellie Zamos, who headed up the latke making crew and worked really hard to ensure latke quality control at the dinner.) In addition, one more special thank you to Nancy Zinner who for many years, including this one, has donated the latke ingredients and her home to make the latkes. Okay, one more special thank you to all the people who made the latkes, collected the reservations for the dinner, did shopping for the dinner, set up the dinner, worked at the dinner, donated items for the dinner and the Oneg and cleaned up the dinner.

In addition, Sisterhood has several fun events in January that we hope you will attend. On January 16, 2020, the Sisterhood will hold its annual Mah Jongg Day. This is a really popular, fun event and we hope that you attend.

Further, on January 26, 2020, our second “Create, Sip & Nosh” program will occur. This will feature a cooking demonstration by our own, fabulous chef, Grant Perry. In November we held our first program in this series of four, creating homemade facial scrubs and bath bombs. This program was truly fun for all ages and all who attended had a great time. We are so appreciative of Lisa Weiss and Allison Brandt, for organizing these fun and friendly events and a special thank you to Monique Gross and her daughter, Daniella, for putting on this special program. We encourage hope that you will attend the cooking demonstration this month, have a bit of fun with us and get to know each other a little better.
