Sisterhood Speaks – February 2020
February—The Little Month That Could
Dina Dreizler, Sisterhood President
In February we celebrate the holiday of Tu BiSh’vat, often referred to as the new year for the trees. We are reminded of our connection to the earth and to our responsibility to care for our environment. In Sisterhood, February begins our process for nominating a slate of Officers for the following year of 2020–2021. If you have any interest in serving on the Board, or serving as a chair of one of our committees or circles, please reach out to any member of the Board and let us know. We welcome your participation and presence.
Last month Sisterhood had several fun events that we hope you were able to attend and enjoy. Mah Jongg Day is a wonderful event wherein players of all levels gather together at TBE for a fun-filled day of Mah Jongg. We are grateful to Marilyn Schimmel and her committee for putting on this successful event.
In addition, in January Sisterhood hosted its second Create, Sip & Nosh program of the year, with the talented chef Grant Perry putting on a cooking demonstration. We learned how to make a fresh berry tart, English scones, and almond shortbread. Best of all, we were able to taste of all the delicious recipes. We are grateful to Grant Perry for his time and effort prepping, planning, demonstrating, and creating a fun time for all. If you were not able to attend, we have two more Create, Sip & Nosh programs, planned for March 1 and May 3. We hope to see you there.
