Sisterhood Speaks – August 2020
Staying Together as a Community
Dina Dreizler, Sisterhood President
How do we maintain, promote, and foster community in a time when large groups cannot be physically present together inside our Temple? Our Temple has answered this question by creating wonderful offerings of events through Zoom wherein we can gather to learn together, pray together, and play together. Sisterhood is attempting to address each of the events on its calendar, and to do our best to make the most of each under the current circumstances.
Sisterhood continues to have its monthly Board meeting via Zoom and is doing its best to facilitate and support our events, customs, and practices. Recently, our request for annual membership dues was distributed through email. We hope that you will continue to support Sisterhood or consider joining as a new member. Your dues support various items including camp scholarships, charitable donations, programs, oneg Shabbat, and kitchen maintenance at TBE. Sisterhood dues also include membership in Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ) at the Pacific District and National levels.
We believe that staying together as a community, and maintaining our traditions, customs, and practices will help us to get through these difficult, stressful times. Our semblance of normalcy, our sense of humor, our gathering together, and working together all help to remind us that we have each other for support. We hope that you will join us in this endeavor.
