Shavuot – An evening to nourish the mind, body, and soul
Join in a special South Bay Jewish community Shavuot experience that promises to be extraordinary! This on-line virtual event will be held Thursday, May 28th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. This year’s theme of Shavuot is “Straight from Sinai: Sources of Comfort During a Trying Time.” Temple Menorah, Temple Shalom of the South Bay, Congregation Ner Tamid, and Temple Beth El are joining together with their Rabbis and Cantors and others to put on an exciting virtual program that you will not want to miss! Here is the schedule for this event:
7:00-7:30 Opening from rabbis followed by Ma’ariv with cantors
7:30-7:50 Breakout sessions #1 (2 sessions per break-out, randomly assigned)
7:50-8:10 BYOD (bring your own dairy/dessert) in randomly assigned break-out sessions. Participants meet and greet, kibbutz, and share their thoughts
8:10-8:30 Breakout sessions #2
8:30-8:50 Breakout sessions #3
8:50-9:00 Closing blessing and songs with cantors
Sessions are 20 minutes each, 2 offerings per session, randomly assigned. Each session will center around where people are finding sources of comfort during these trying times. The session leaders will be:
