Summer is a time for planning and also a time to prepare for the upcoming high holidays. Open Tent is planning for the next 6 months. We are also reaching out to the community to invite them to learn more about Temple Beth El and the special, caring, diverse and inclusive Jewish community that we are, a community that embraces people for who they are and what they bring.
We are currently “rolling out” our new TBE video and we ask that you share this with your friends who might be seeking a Jewish community to call their own. Whether by email or through your social media networks, please let your friends know that we welcome them home!
More information is in this issue of Kol Beit El on page 11 and also is being sent in the weekly e-news.
Here is the link to the video:
Our lay leaders, who are working with us on Outreach, will also be meeting with realtors to share information about TBE and our high holiday services. This will be a way for new neighbors who are moving into the area to learn more about us.
And be sure to look for our brochures in neighborhood grocery stores as we promote “Rosh Hashanah in the Aisles.” A TBE brochure will be located in stores throughout the South Bay and north Long Beach sharing information about the high holidays and providing a listing of our many holiday programs. Thanks to Gail Burch during her tenure as VP of Outreach, we began “Holidays in the Aisles” during Passover. The response was positive and we will continue these efforts for the upcoming holidays.
Summer will be busy for our Open Tent committee. We encourage you to join with us to promote our video, to share our programs and high holiday events and to encourage your friends who seek a Jewish community to join with us.
We appreciate the opportunity to welcome them home!
