TBE Great Matzah Give-Away
We have custom printed TBE Matzahs for our Congregants as a gift from Gale and Eliot Swartz!
The Matzahs are Aviv from Israel and are certified Kosher for Passover. They are available for pick-up in the TBE office and are limited to 2 boxes per household
while supplies last.

“March For our Lives” Walk in Long Beach

Saturday, March 24
9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Meet at 9:00 a.m. at the Alpert JCC
3801 E. Willow Street in Long Beach
Please join Rabbi Chuck, TBE congregants and students from all over Long Beach as we march from Bixby Park to Harvey Milk Park to demonstrate our wholehearted support for the victims of the school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida as well as all mass shootings that have occurred across the nation.
This is a student-organized, nationwide call-to-action against the prioritization of guns over human life.
We will meet at the Alpert JCC at 9:00 a.m. and shuttle to the beginning of the March at Bixby Park, 130 Cherry Avenue in Long Beach. There we will walk from Bixby Park to Harvey Milk Park, 195 E. 3rd Street in Long Beach. The shuttle will then return you to the Alpert JCC at 1:00 p.m.
The walk is approximately 1 1/2 miles. Bring water, snacks and good walking shoes.

Volunteer Opportunity!

The Fort MacArthur Base is hosting an Easter EggStravaganza for its soldiers and families. The Community Center on Base is looking for volunteers to help with this event. There are multiple shifts available as follows:
7:30am – 9:30am (set up)
9:00am – 11:00am (set up and egg hunt)
1:00pm – 3:00pm (tear down)
If you are interested to volunteer, please contact Katie Reynolds, the Fort MacArthur Community Center Director, at least one week in advance of the event with the following information:
Full name, DOB, Drivers License Number and State of Issue.
For teenagers over 10 who would like to volunteer, bring a school ID.

The word “havurah” comes from the Hebrew word “haver,” meaning friend. Its primary purpose is to promote Jewish fellowship. Each havurah is a small community of congregants who gather together to socialize, learn more about Jewish subjects, celebrate Jewish holidays, or may take any focus that the group chooses.
