Volunteer Opportunities with our friends at Family Promise
Sunday, February 25 & Monday, February 26 San Pedro United Methodist Church 580 W. 6th St, San Pedro
Temple Beth El has committed to helping our friends at Family Promise, a community-based approach to addressing homelessness, engaging both the local community and houses of faith in an effort to combat family homelessness.
We need volunteers to drop off dinner, serve the meal & hang out, and sleep overnight at the church on both February 25 and 26.
Please note that ALL volunteers must participate in a one-hour Training.
The Los Angeles Air Force Base in El Segundo has many programs to help support the men and women who serve our country, along with their families. One of the ways we can show our support is by providing care packages for our troops oversees. Our friends at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Palos Verdes are assembling these care packages and we have the opportunity to help by providing much needed donations for the boxes as well as helping with the cost to ship the boxes.
Please drop off your donations at TBE!

It has been the tradition of Sisterhood to send hamantaschen free of charge to those TBE students who are now in college. If you would like to remind them of the joy of eating these delicious three cornered hats, please let us know their address and which flavor they prefer no later than February 16, so we can get the Hamantaschen to them by Purim!
If you are interested or would like to learn more about the havurah, please email Joan Friedman, Havurot Chair.
The word “havurah” comes from the Hebrew word “haver,” meaning friend. Its primary purpose is to promote Jewish fellowship. Each havurah is a small community of congregants who gather together to socialize, learn more about Jewish subjects, celebrate Jewish holidays, or may take any focus that the group chooses.
TBE is delighted to partner with the
Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) to bring opportunities for Jewish study right to your inbox. Five days a week, the URJ publishes Ten Minutes of Torah, a daily email.
Sign up today. Be sure to include our congregation’s name and location. It only takes 10 minutes to get started on a lifetime of Jewish learning. Begin today!
