New-Website-News Post #8

Temple Beth El’s website is celebrating its third anniversary! During these pandemic times we have seen how important our digital selves have become and perhaps been surprised at how adept we all have become at utilizing our devices to maintain close contact with friends and family. Our Temple has moved its entire programming online in a massive and mostly seamless effort in adapting to this new way of life. It has even enabled expanding the scope and geographic range of our offerings. We have had folks who have since long ago moved away from the area being able to return and join with us online participating in various events, services, and activities.

The Open Tent committee has been busy, but not quite in the way originally intended before the pandemic struck. They have successfully organized neighborhood connections between members who might not have gotten to know each other as well before. They have produced a wonderful video introduction to the Temple that will soon be released and promoted to the wider community. They are working diligently to burnish our social media and online presence and expand contacts with our local Jewish community.

As part of these efforts, the website has undergone a bit of an aesthetic makeover, especially of the home page, the most important landing zone for all those who come looking for Temple Beth El San Pedro for the first time, and even afterwards. The header has been redesigned as a moving slideshow that was previously seen separately on the homepage and on YouTube. The new video will take its place after it is released.

Here are some pictures from our new homepage header:
