Introduction to Judaism Course
Introduction to Judaism Course with Rabbi Cassi
October 10 through April 8
Sundays, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
18 Sessions, plus a Shabbat celebration together
This Introduction to Judaism class, under the auspices of the Union for Reform Judaism, is an engaging multi-session series delving into the beauty of Jewish traditions, teachings, and history through a Reform Jewish lens. We will explore holidays, life-cycle celebrations, theology, prayer, Torah, and other sacred texts. We will talk about Jewish history, antisemitism, Jewish peoplehood, our connection to the Land of Israel, and what it means to be a Reform Jew today.
Whether you are new to the Jewish community, are interested in conversion, want to deepen your Jewish knowledge, or better understand the traditions of family members and friends, this class is for you. You will have the opportunity to explore Jewish wisdom while getting to know a community of fellow learners.
Newly purchased technology will enable us to offer this class to people who chose to join in-person and those who prefer to participate via zoom. It will occur on Sunday mornings, 9:30-11:30 am, beginning on October 10 and concluding with a Shabbat celebration on April 8th. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Rabbi Cassi.
