Educationally Speaking – December 2020
Consecration
Randi Sher, Director of Education
As we are approaching Hanukkah, I am thinking about all the things that are usual for this time of year. Hanukkah is a time for rededication and the thought process and reflection needed to be truly honest in our actions and feelings. It is also a time in our Torah School year that we hold Consecration.
Consecration is one of my favorite events during the year. At this time we acknowledge why we are here learning together and we share our family’s reasons for their dedication. On Friday evening,
December 11 we will be honoring our Alef students and our new students in their dedication/rededication to Temple Beth El and their studies. Please join us for this special occasion at 7:00 p.m.
Hanukkah will be different without big gatherings, but I am sure it will be beautiful and warm around the candles! Keep watch for Torah School emails with other ideas for Hanukkah fun.
We have Torah School classes through Thursday, December 17. We will have Winter Break from Friday, December 18 through Friday, January 1 and resume classes on Sunday January 3, 2021.
