Temple Beth El

Cantor Ilan Davidson

Cantor Davidson has served Temple Beth El since 1995. Born and raised in the Los Angeles area, Cantor Davidson claims both the South Bay and Rishon LeZion, Israel as his home. The youngest in a long familial line of cantors, he began his training at the age of five with his mentor, Hazzan Philip Model z”l. With his strong performing arts background from the University of California, the cantor is also a talented secular musician and contemporary Jewish singer and songwriter. He released his first album, Stained Glass, in 1995.

In addition to leading our congregational worship, Cantor Davidson coordinates the adult and youth choirs, prepares our B’nai Mitzvah students and is involved in multiple Jewish educational activities for pre-school through adults. The cantor provides our community with ongoing opportunities to experience and enjoy our rich musical heritage, while remaining an incurable Disneyphile and Dodgers fan.

Among his more recent strokes of genius is his marriage to his beautiful wife, Jodi. They are the proud parents of Jordan Rebecca and Zoe Lauren.
