Temple Beth El

Festival Services

Temple Beth El offers a full calendar of Festival Services. These include festival eve and morning worship, which are often combined with community celebration or an educational program.

For the High Holy Days, services for Selihot, Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are conducted in the Reform tradition. Each service is enriched by the participation of our Temple Beth El Adult Choir, and parallel children’s programming is offered. Visit our High Holy Days page.

Erev Simhat Torah
Sunday, October 23

4:00 p.m. ~ Torah School and Family Learning
Our Sunday Morning Torah School will not meet in the morning. Please join us at 4:00 p.m. for family learning for students and their parents.
4:00 p.m. ~ Sukkot Yizkor
We will gather for a special service to mark the end of Sukkot. We will recite the Festival liturgy and special prayers of Yizkor (Remembrance) and read the names of our Temple members or relatives who have died since last Sukkot. If you would like the name of a loved one added to the Yizkor list, please contact Rabbi Briskin directly.
5:15 p.m. ~ Community Dinner
We welcome those who have participated in the Yizkor Service or Family Learning to stay, those who are attending Simhat Torah Service to come early, and those who will be attending the entire day to sit together for a festive meal. Contact Carrie at TBEoffice@bethelsp.org for dinner reservations and enjoy the warmth of our temple community.
6:00 p.m. ~ Simhat Torah Service
Join us as we celebrate the annual completion of Torah and its beginning, with our brief, but musically creative service. You don’t want to miss this evening service filled with music and fun combined with the mitzvah of hearing the last and first verses of the Torah read together.
We’ll also learn from our upcoming b’nai mitzvah students as they “tweet” their Torah portion.
